My brother is in Bend, OR, and has been meaning to get around to selling his truck. I figured I'd help him out. He posted on Craigslist months ago and the listing has since expired. Hoping this will generate some interest and a fellow Jalop may give it a new home. Again - this is my brothers truck, not mine, so I am thin on the details. I can provide you with some contact info should you want to get in touch with him to view the vehicle.

For sale is a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! pickup, I didn't even know about these things until he bought one. He sent me a few photos. I've seen the truck in person and it is a friggin' tank and is running. He dropped a Wagoneer motor in it of an unknown year and his best guess is it has 80-90k miles on the engine. Automatic with !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Auto starter kit.

Truck is free from any serious rust issues and under the hood is pretty clean. He sent me a few photos. Bend is kind of high desert country and salt is never used on the roads.

I think he is asking $5,000 OBO. If interested comment below and I can give you his info. Again, NOT MY TRUCK - if you have questions you need to talk to my brother.

That is a pretty serious front bumper.

This thing is BUILT. Between the truck and his firearms my brother would be well equipped should the zombie apocalypse become a reality.

looks like white over Trans Am Red, which is a cool color. Looks to be in good shape for the most part, so the price is maybe a bit too high for the weak chained q-trac system, but still within range.

Yeah, OBO - I think he is open. He recently sold his small business and is between gigs, so he is a fairly motivated seller.

Central OR is super forgiving on old cars and trucks. The FJ40 that my parents have been storing for someone in our family has been sitting out in a fenced off area of our pasture and hasn't really developed any rust at least nothing serious. I've been waiting for they day the original owner gives it up to us so I can get it back up and running, its been sitting for like 8 years now.

Maybe it is time to talk some sense ($$$) to the original owner! Those trucks are getting difficult to find in any kind of near original shape.

Trust me I've wanted to but every time I ask my dad to give me his info he says I need to wait a bit longer. I'm pretty sure though at this point it belongs to us because we've had it on our property longer than he owned it before he left it.

I don't know exactly what it's called, but I do believe there is a law where after a certain number of years, abandoned property automatically belongs to the owner of the land that the property has been left on.

The quadratrac has got the biggest damn chain I've ever seen in a transfer case.

Problem is that it has no way to maintain tension, it just looses slack with use and has to be replaced quite often compared to the long lifetime of a bik and stronk fsj. When this loose chain or debris that is floating around meets the drive socket, the aluminum case literally explodes.

They also need special fluid which no one ever changes on time.

There are some desert rigs that perform quite well with these cases and a Quadratrac Wagoneer won the first Sno*Drift rally

I love these things.

Won't be able to tow a damn thing with full time 4wd, but those axles will be a great starting place for a serious off roader.

oh yeah, it can totally be a good box...with work. This one is likely running with slack and old oil!

First off, does your brother still have the truck? I am interested in the truck but I’m in Texas, so it would take some work and about ($1000) to get it here. How flexible is the price? Your brother can contact me at larrypratt@yahoo.com. —Larry
